Lhtako Dene Nation Fisheries Department is leading the Regional Channel Condition Assessment Mentoring and Restoration Program to complete Channel Condition Inventories and support collaborative watershed stewardship. The project brings together regional Nations and local stewardship groups to collectively prioritize watershed protection, restoration, and monitoring while providing mentorship, training and job opportunities for young Nation members.
The program helps build capacity within the Lhtako Dene Nation, part of the Dakelh First Nations government in the northern Fraser Canyon, by supporting skills development in mapping, watershed assessments, drone operations, project planning, and regional engagement.
