Malahat-Led Watershed Governance: Exploring Models and Jurisdictional Needs

Malahat Nation is leading this project to explore and begin to develop a model for Malahat-led watershed governance within the Malahat region, with a focus on the Malahat Benchlands and Shawnigan Creek watersheds. The project will investigate various governance models that could be adapted to and developed within a Malahat-led context; identify the jurisdictional and legal considerations of relevance to a Malahat-led governance model; and engage with other First Nations communities, local stakeholders, community members and knowledge holders, and governance experts to gather insights and recommendations.
