Funding Supporters
We are grateful to the donors who have provided financial support to the
Watershed Security Fund and its grant program.
Watersheds embody the interconnectedness, interdependence, and sacredness of the natural world, linking everything from mountain tops to oceans.
Our mutual reliance on water makes it a shared responsibility, requiring everyone within the watershed to actively contribute to its care and preservation.
The Watershed Security Fund aims to continue growing an enduring stream of funding to support programs with a long-term goal of creating a $1 Billion Fund. We are seeking opportunities to receive and steward a range of funding, to grow the endowment and enable flow-through contributions from other sources. These sources could include contributions from Crown governments, philanthropy, and industry.

This investment builds on the $30-million commitment announced in Budget 2022, and the success of a previous $27-million investment in the Healthy Watersheds Initiative (HWI) under the StrongerBC economic plan.
The $100-million contribution currently generates $3-5 million annually for grants and programs.
